Dr. Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. He received his BS in Physics from Lanzhou University, China in 2007, and his PhD in Nuclear Physics from Rutgers University in 2013. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Physics at University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and four-year residency training at Duke University in 2019. Dr. Zhang’s clinical expertise focuses on advanced radiotherapy system commissioning, quality assurance, treatment planning and image-guided radiation therapy. His research interests include the development of novel image reconstruction methods, imaging dose reduction, deformable image registration, proton delivery techniques and patient motion management. Dr. Zhang received the AAPM Science Council Junior Investigator Award in 2016. He was selected as a finalist of AAPM 4D-CBCT Image Reconstruction Grand Challenge in 2018.
