Darci Peistrup has over 16 years of experience in the healthcare industry, most particularly 6+ years, in proton therapy prior authorizations. She has helped pioneer the authorization process for the referral department of UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Darci plays a vital role in developing appeal letters specific to numerous disease sites and insurance companies. She understands and interprets medical policies and state and federal guidelines to work with insurance companies to, in turn, support patients in swift and effective results in the insurance approval process. Darci has worked in partnership with administration to pilot a centralized new patient referral and billing process for the new Epic electronic health records system for radiation oncology that will be deployed as a standard process. In addition to her radiation oncology experience, Darci has extensive experience within the pediatrics medical sector.
