Robin Cacchio, RN, CCRP

Mrs. Cacchio oversees all interactions in regards to the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute Research Department. This includes the management of a multitude of clinical trials and outcomes studies — including Principal Investigator-initiated, cooperative group and collaborative studies — from preparation for regulatory bodies to follow-up data collection. She is responsible for maintaining compliance for all protocols and staff with research-related functions. Robin has been a Registered Nurse for 16 years.

Teena Burchianti, MSN, APRN, ANP-BC, OCN®

Teena Burchianti, MSN, APRN, ANP-BC, OCN®, is an advanced practice registered nurse with more than 30 years of experience in oncology nursing. She provides expert survivorship care and education to breast and gynecologic cancer patients at UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Teena collaborates with the radiation oncologists in the assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients during and after proton therapy.

Maria Mamalui, PhD

Dr. Maria Mamalui is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. She is a medical physicist with more than 10 years clinical experience beyond residency training. Her clinical duties include treatment chart checks and supervision of treatment planning activities, advising dosimetry staff on the best way of handling complex cases and improving treatment planning procedures.

Perry Johnson, PhD

Dr. Perry Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida, and the Director of Physics at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. As Director, he ensures safe, high-quality radiation therapy is delivered to each patient through a continuous focus on quality assurance and ensures UFHPTI is at the forefront of modern proton therapy practice. Romaine Charles Nichols, Jr., MD

Dr. Romaine Nichols is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology in the University of Florida College of Medicine. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed publications and one book chapter, in addition to the many abstract contributions to respected oncology journals such as the Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics. 

William M. Mendenhall, MD, FACR

Dr. William (Bill) Mendenhall is a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology in the University of Florida College of Medicine. He is a frequent contributor to medical journals, with more than 900 published works, and has spoken at over 150 national and international oncology conferences. Dr. Mendenhall is regularly invited to speak as a visiting professor at well-known medical centers and programs. He is committed to keeping up with the most recent research and is currently the Operating Editor of the International Journal of Particle Therapy. Dr.

Daniel J. Indelicato, MD

Dr. Indelicato is a tenured Professor and Associate Vice Chair of the University of Florida Department of Radiation Oncology. He currently holds the William and Joan Mendenhall Endowed Professorship of Pediatric Radiotherapy and directs the University of Florida pediatric radiotherapy program. He was named a Fellow of the British Royal College of Radiology in 2023 and a Fellow of the American Society of Radiation Oncology in 2024.

Curtis Bryant, MD, MPH

Dr. Bryant is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine. He has presented over 40 scientific and educational talks at national and international conferences. Dr. Bryant has published more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and 3 textbook chapters. He is part of the head and neck cancer team at the University of Florida that won the Top Team Effort Award in 2014 from the University of Florida Cancer Center. 

Julie A. Bradley, MD, MHCDS

Dr. Julie Bradley is a Professor with tenure in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. With an intense focus on breast cancer and pediatric tumors in both the clinical and research realms, she possesses a deep knowledge of these cancer types and provides comprehensive, personalized care for people affected by these diagnoses.
