The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute, located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an immediate opening for a full-time Anesthesia Technician. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical support to the CRNA and/or Anesthesiologist to facilitate the delivery of safe and efficient anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician delivers care to patients of all ages, with a primary focus on pediatrics, striving to improve the performance of clinical activities during selected periods of the perioperative experience under the direct supervision of the CRNA or Anesthesiologist.
The technician assists with patient transfers, equipment preparation, intubations, regional anesthesia and maintains all anesthesia machines and accessories.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working as an Anesthesia Technician and one year of experience working in healthcare, with proven experience with anesthesia machines and peripheral equipment.
A high school diploma and BLS certification are required. Certification as an A.T.T. and ACLS are preferred.
UFHPTI is looking for a highly motivated individual who has a desire to help patients, takes initiative and maintains a positive attitude. Above-average communication skills, both oral and written, are required. The Anesthesia Technician must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly and easily to change and adjust behavior and approach to work when necessary. The technician must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
