The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute (UFPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for a Research Associate responsible for assisting in the support, coordination, and administration of a variety of research related activities and projects. Individual will monitor lab equipment, track lab processing and provide tracking assistance with OTPs (outcomes tracking protocol). Will assist patients with VTOC and also assist with account maintenance. This position will report directly to the Research Manager and may also report to the Biostatistician on specific data entry/based projects.

Qualified candidate must have a high school diploma and prior experience working in an office environment. College preferred. Experience using medical terminology preferred.  Prior exposure in the oncology field, research or in an academic environment preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of basic HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality guidelines preferred.

Individual should be skilled in organizing resources, establishing priorities, formatting reports and have strong writing skills with a good command of grammar and punctuation. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of study participants. Must be able to maintain confidences related to sensitive information, ability to multi-task and to work independently. Must be self-motivated and have attention to detail.
