UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for a Full time Medical Assistant/Customer Service Representative for our Adult Nursing Department. Individual will be responsible for assisting with front office clerical responsibilities and back office clinical responsibilities to include scheduling patient appointments and diagnostic tests, interviewing patients for demographic and financial information, registering patients,  taking vital signs, assisting with patient exams and procedures, and performing some clinical tasks. Excellent customer service is required in all interactions.

Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and initiative.  Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow.  Must have basic key board skills and know basic arithmetic.  Must be able to handle busy or stressful situations in a professional, customer service focused manner. Must be able to work in a team environment.  Excellent computer skills are a must.

Ambulatory health care and oncology experience preferred. Minimum of one year medical assistant experience preferred. Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program. Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Registration by the American Society of Medical Technologists. Current BLS certification required.
