The University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for an LPN. Individuals will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assist in the provision of ambulatory health care services that reflect the ambulatory health care providers philosophy and standard of ambulatory health and nursing care of assigned patients. LPN’s will work closely with physicians and RN Case Managers on a day to day basis and collaborate with other members of the health care team to insure the patient’s needs are met in a timely fashion. Positions are primarily day time hours, but some evening rotation may be required.

Qualified candidates should have excellent communication and critical thinking skills along with self-initiative and above average organizational skills.  Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and patient population is required. Must possess solid clinical assessment skills and have ability to  develop, implement, evaluate, and modify a plan of care.  2+ years of prior LPN clinical experience required and experience in oncology strongly preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.

30-hour IV Therapy Course approved by the Florida Board for all LPN’s assigned in clinics providing Intravenous Therapy (UF Policy AMB-04-012).  Must have current, valid LPN license in good standing and be certified in BLS.
