Stella Flampouri, PhD

Stella Flampouri is a medical physicist at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. She trained in physics at the University of Athens, Greece and got an MSc in bio-engineering from Imperial College, London followed by a PhD in medical physics from the Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital, UK. She was a fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital before becoming faculty member of the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2006 where she currently holds the rank of associate professor. In addition to providing scientific, clinical, and operational support for proton and conventional radiation treatments at UFHPTI, she has special interests in proton dose calculation and uncertainties. She is also the leading physicist of the thoracic service. She comes originally from Greece and she is the mother of three children.
