Ms. Louis is responsible for the coordination of treatment planning activities of the dosimetry staff for all radiotherapy delivery modalities at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. She has more than 20 years of experience as a dosimetrist in academic cancer centers. The dosimetry staff develops detailed radiation isodose plans and calculations under the direction of the radiation oncologists and physicists. They assist in tumor localization (set-up) procedures using visual analysis of anatomical landmarks, digital radiographs, computerized tomography (CT) scans and ancillary studies. Dosimetrists assist and advise the radiation therapy staff in set-up positioning and in the preparation of cast or molds for immobilization. The dosimetry staff provides detailed instructions for administration of daily radiation treatments and transfers treatment parameters from the treatment planning system into the electronic patient treatment file. Ms. Louis is a member of the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists and has CMD certification.
