Radiation oncologist joins the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute

Jacksonville, Fla. (December 22, 2008) - The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute is pleased to announce the addition of Bradford S. Hoppe, M.D., to its premiere team of physicians. Hoppe, a radiation oncologist and assistant professor at the University of Florida, specializes in treating lymphoma, lung cancer and prostate cancer.

Hoppe trained as a radiation oncology resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was also the Mortimer Lacher Clinical Lymphoma Fellow, and conducted clinical outcomes research in lymphoma. His research experience also includes work in molecular biology at the Cancer Biology Research Laboratory at Stanford University and in immunology at the Professor Edgard Santos University Hospital of the Federal University of Bahia Medical College in Salvador, Brazil.

He has authored and co-authored numerous research studies that have been published in such medical journals as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Head and Neck, Bone Marrow Transplant and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics.
