Other Rare Tumors
There are many very rare tumors in childhood that are often treated with radiation. Some may be better treated with protons. In general, tumors adjacent to vital organs in the head or neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis, particularly those requiring intermediate or high doses of radiation are likely to benefit from proton therapy.
